The war in Ukraine and high inflation have led to falling demand for many products, including electronics. This has led to the prices of dram memories now expected to drop slightly, writes Taiwanese analysis firm Trendforce.
Wholesale memory prices can drop by up to 13 percent from April to the end of September for certain types of memory. The prices of ddr5 memory for computers have already started to fall, while ddr4 memory for computers and memory for mobile phones are expected to fall further in the fall.
Even the prices of graphics memory (gddr6) will drop 0-5 percent per quarter according to Trendforce. The sharp price run of cryptocurrencies like Ethereum has probably contributed to the sudden drop in demand for graphics cards, something that PC gamers can rejoice.
