The Royal Library’s archive of Swedish daily newspapers stretches all the way back to the 17th century – almost 400 years of history gathered on now mainly digitized newspaper pages.
Normally, papers published after 1904 are only available in libraries that have signed an access agreement, but thanks to an agreement with Bonus Copyright Access, the entire archive is now open online.
The agreement applies initially during April and means that anyone can search among the newspapers and find old issues. The archive has the entire edition of Aftonbladet, Dagens Industri, Dagens Nyheter, Expressen and Svenska Dagbladet in digital form, and 900 other newspapers that have been partially digitized.
The Royal Library has shared the news on Facebook and at the time of writing the service is under pressure, so you may need to be patient before accessing any papers.
