Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer announced yesterday that the company sold four million Windows 8 upgrades in the first three days since the operating system went on sale on Friday.
– In the course of the last three days, we have sold four million upgrades of Windows 8. The level of embracement from the enthusiasts is very high, Steve Ballmer stated at the developer conference, Build, yesterday.
He later added that the sales figures are “fantastic”.
The figures do not include sales to businesses, but only the licenses purchased and downloaded via Microsoft’s website.
Users who want to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro are initially offered a price of SEK 279 if you buy the operating system on Microsoft’s website. At the dealers, the upgrade costs approximately SEK 549.
In order to take advantage of the offer, you must own a previous license of Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7. The offer is valid until January 31, 2013.
