When Microsoft launched Windows Phone 8 yesterday, the company announced that there are now 120,000 apps for the platform in the Windows Store. A 20 percent increase compared to June when the company reported 100,000 apps. The apps are now also available in a total of 191 countries worldwide.
Microsoft also states that of the 50 most popular apps, across all platforms, 46 of them are for Windows Phone. In addition, the language support will be doubled to 50 languages, it will also be possible to make country-specific apps in the future, writes The Verge.
The number of apps for Windows Phone has grown rapidly in the past year, but it is still far from the same level as Google’s Android or Apple’s IOS, both of which now have around 700,000 apps.
