Spotify has unveiled a new music player available directly in the Facebook app. If a Spotify user shares a song or podcast via Facebook, it will now be possible to listen to it directly via the player without having to leave the Facebook app.
In the event that a user starts a song it discovers in the news feed, it will also continue to play even if the user scrolls further. Player controls for the audio content will be at the bottom of the screen.
The new music player is rolling out now and is available to both Spotify’s free and paid users. It will not come to Sweden during the first rollout. The first time users want to use the feature, they will be asked if they want to connect the Spotify music player and the Facebook app.
