Samsung announced today that the company plans to release mobile phones with bendable displays sometime next year. Soon after that, tablets will also be released with the new technology.
– The new technology will be released sometime in 2012, hopefully in the first half of the year, says Samsung’s spokesperson, Robert Yi.
However, the company did not go into any technical details on how the bendable displays will be used. However, Samsung mentions that the company’s smart phone, the Galaxy S2, has exceeded all expectations with ten million units sold in five months.
Earlier this week, Nokia demonstrated a new technology that involves the entire phone being bendable, which makes it possible to create a completely new interface.
