Samsung confirms four cores in the next Galaxy

Although it comes as no surprise, Samsung confirmed yesterday that the successor to the Galaxy S2 will get the company’s new Exonys processor which has four cores.

The Exonys 4 Quad will offer a clock frequency of 1.4 gigahertz and is adapted for both smartphones and tablets. Samsung has yet to reveal the name of the company’s next smartphone, but the company is using the same moniker that was previously expected to be dubbed the Samsung Galaxy S3.

– The new processor will make it possible to offer the same performance on smartphones as on a desktop computer, Samsung states in a press release according to Cnet.

According to Samsung, the new processor will, among other things, offer the following performance improvements:

  • Full hd video in 1080p with 30 frames per second and connector for hdmi 1.4.
  • Twice as much processing power compared to the Exynos 4 Dual used in the Galaxy S2.

According to Samsung, the new Galaxy model will be launched in May. Below is a video showing the difference in performance between the Exynos 4 Dual processor and the new Exynos 4 Quad processor.
