NSA: “Authorities should have access to all encryption”

It will hardly come as a surprise that the head of the spy organization NSA wants to get access to all encrypted information on computers and other types of devices. During a security meeting yesterday, NSA chief Michael Rogers therefore stated that the NSA and US authorities should be able to read encrypted information without hindrance.

NSA:

When asked if US authorities should have so-called back doors on encrypted devices, he replied that the US government should have a framework for how it should work.

– You don’t want either the FBI or the NSA to be able to unilaterally decide what information should be accessed. We have to work on a solution and I think it is possible, says Michael Rogers.

It is not the first time that high-ranking figures in the US administration have recently advocated access to encrypted information. Last September, both FBI Director James Comey and Attorney General Eric Holder advocated that encryption hinders law enforcement.
