The Motorola Xoom was the first tablet to run on Google’s new operating system, Android 3.0 Honeycomb. Several analysts said in early April that the Xoom was a flop and had only sold 100,000 units.
Even if the Motorola Xoom does not reach the same sales figures as Apple’s iPad, the numbers are better than many have predicted.
For the full year, Motorola expects to sell between 1.5 and two million tablets. The company will also launch new models with a completely new design later this year, Motorola says.
