Microsoft is scrapping Skype for touchscreens

Currently, Microsoft offers two different versions of Skype for Windows depending on whether you use a keyboard and mouse or a touch screen.

Ahead of the imminent launch of Windows 10, Microsoft has decided to offer only one version in the future, which means that the touchscreen version of Skype will be scrapped on July 7.

If you use Windows RT, the desktop version of Skype does not work, so the touch screen version will remain there for the time being. But since there won’t be any more updates, it will probably become unusable over time.

More information can be found on the official Skype blog.
