After a few days of persistent rumors, Microsoft has now confirmed the acquisition of German company 6Wunderkinder, best known for the popular productivity app Wunderlist.
Via a post on Microsoft’s official blog, it is stated that Wunderlist fits perfectly into the company’s investment in smart solutions for the mobile phone and the cloud.
Wunderlist is available for most mobile platforms.
Wunderlist is said to have more than 13 million users worldwide. Not to scare them away, Microsoft promises that the app will remain free for consumers, as well as the prices for Wunderlist Pro and Wunderlist for Business will remain unchanged.
How much Microsoft has had to pay for 6Wunderkinder is unclear, but according to the Wall Street Journal it is between 100 and 200 million dollars.
