Shortly after Apple launched the Ipad mini last month, competitor Amazon took the opportunity to create a comparison with its own tablet, the Kindle Fire HD. In the comparison, Amazon stated, among other things, that the Kindle Fire HD has external stereo speakers, while the iPad mini only has mono speakers.
Apple has not mentioned either on its website or at launch what type of speakers the iPad mini has. A reader of the technology blog 9to5mac therefore decided to send an email to Apple’s head of marketing, Phil Schiller, and ask.
Phil Schiller answered his email yesterday and confirmed that the iPad mini has stereo speakers.
Shortly after yesterday’s confirmation, Amazon removed the comparison between the Kindle Fire HD and the iPad from its website.
