HP Plus launched – to simplify printing life for small businesses

A completely new ecosystem for printers, which should enable safer, more durable and productive printing. This is how HP describes its new hardware and software-based service HP Plus, which from now on will be integrated into selected printers aimed at small businesses and consumers.

HP is pushing features such as automatic resolution of connection problems, improved privacy when printing, and strengthened protection against intrusions and viruses. A new function should, for example, make it possible to place print jobs in a queue and then start them only when the customer is actually near the printer.

HP also promises full compatibility with Android and IOS smartphones for printing and scanning. Users also get the option to sign up for a free six-month period on the company’s Ink service Instant Ink.

By “more sustainable”, HP means that, with the new Plus service, it will reinvest the environmental footprint of your prints in various projects to preserve forests in the Amazon and China, among others.

HP Plus is not a dedicated subscription service, but the functionality is built into some printer models. The Laserjet M200 series (sales start in June), the Officejet Pro 8000e and 9000e series (April 27), the Deskjet 2700e and 4100e series (May) and the Envy 6000e and 6400e series (June) are marked here. HP Plus only works with the company’s original ink.
