Opera today made a first test version of Opera Mobilw 10.1 for Android available for download. According to Opera, the focus of the new browser is on performance along with a lot of features that are missing from the native Android browser.
– Android users now have a better option when it comes to using web browsers on mobile devices. With Opera’s new browser for Android, we provide users with the best available tool for accessing the web, says Lars Boilesen, CEO of Opera Software.
Features included in Opera Mobile 10.1 include:
- Tab management with visual tabs
- Opera Presto browser engine
- Synchronization of bookmarks on multiple devices with Opera Link
- Ability to set as default browser
- Features for geolocation
- Functions for SVG
The trial version of Opera Mobile 10.1 can be downloaded for free on the Android Market or at m.opera.com/next. Opera has not announced when the finished version is expected to be ready.
