Google may violate the GDPR in connection with new account registrations

Five member states of the European Consumer Organization, ECO, a consumer group that brings together 45 European consumer organizations, have now submitted a complaint to the European Commission accusing Google of violating the GDPR, reports Android Police.

According to the complaint, this must take place in connection with consumers registering user accounts on Google’s services.

Google must then, among other things, give users an “accept all” option when they ask how their user data should be handled, but not give them a “deny all” option.

In connection with the registration process, they must also withhold information about how the users’ data will be handled and give non-specific explanations about why the data is collected in the first place.

Google themselves have not commented on the whole thing.
