Facebook promises to crack down on online hate

There are many who publish threats and hate online, something that has led to harsh criticism against companies that allow the phenomenon.

Now Facebook announces that starting next week it will introduce zero tolerance against posts that praise white supremacy groups.

The company will use machine learning and artificial intelligence to quickly identify inappropriate posts. People searching for certain terms will also be redirected to Life After Hate, an organization that helps people leave groups that advocate violence.

– Unfortunately, there will always be people who try to trick our system to spread hate. The challenge for us is to stay one step ahead by improving our technology, sharpening our rules and collaborating with experts who can help us, writes Facebook in a press release.
