new printers have everything expected from a multifunction printer. But it also has that little extra of features and qualities that appeals to the discerning photo enthusiast. Because you get really nice prints even though the bright photo colors are not included among the six cartridges.

Instead, Canon has chosen to have two black colors and one gray in addition to the three basic colors cmy. The gray color makes grayscale images fairer and enhances the shadow shading in color images. Turn off the colors and use only black/gray for prints you want to do in grayscale. Text prints are very sharp thanks to the black pigment ink used when you select black print.

Duplex, wifi, cloud printing and much more
There are several advantages. Automatic duplex is included, which allows you to save paper and print double-sided documents. You can have both plain paper and photo paper loaded in the printer at the same time: plain paper in the lower 150-sheet cassette and photo paper in the upper tray. With duplex, the printer automatically selects the correct paper, so there is no risk of accidentally making double-sided photo prints.

Of course, there is the possibility of wireless printing with Wi-Fi and you can also choose to print from your smartphone directly via the cloud.

The print speed is not record fast, but it is compensated by all the smart functions that the printer contains. A novelty is that it can print photos from HD movies. With the accompanying program HD Movie Print, you can manipulate the images and also combine a series of images into one and the same image, for example to illustrate a movement.

High resolution and fast scanner
The scanning and copying functions are important parts of a multi-function printer. With the MG8250, you can enlarge a copy up to 400 percent, make double-sided copies, and remove margins. The image reader is fast, easy to use and has such a high resolution that it can read 35 millimeter negatives and slides in up to 4,800 x 9,600 dpi.
