During the Infosecurity Europe 2012 security conference held this week, Kaspersky Lab’s co-founder and CEO, Eugene Kaspersky, gave a speech about the security of Apple products.
– I believe that Apple is ten behind Microsoft in terms of security. I have said for years that from a security point of view there is no difference between Mac and Windows. It has always been possible to create malware for the Mac, says Eugene Kaspersky according to Zdnet.
In recent weeks, Mac security has come into focus as the Trojan Flashback is said to have infected over 650,000 Macs worldwide. The largest spread of malware on the platform to date.
According to Eugene Kaspersky, Apple must increase its security thinking as threats will continue to increase.
– Apple is now entering a world that Microsoft has been in for more than ten years. Cybercriminals quickly learn what works, and this was the first really successful attack on Macs, says Eugene Kaspersky.
