The biggest news, as well as the one that has created the greatest expectations even before the launch, is the Theme-adapted filling function. The feature allows you to remove unwanted objects in an image and replace them with details taken from and consistent with the surroundings and background, making it appear as if the object never existed. This can be a time-saving feature that simplifies work, and we really like it when it works. But it doesn’t always perform the task as you intended, but that often has to do with how complex the subject is. Expect to get pretty results once you’ve run the function.
More improvements
The ability to expose objects has been significantly improved. New features in the Refine Edges dialog make it easier and faster to make well-made exposures, and we’re impressed with how easy it is to even expose complicated details like hair and soft edges.
Another interesting novelty is “Reshape figure” with which you can move, reshape or change the position of any element in an image. It superimposes a mesh of meshes over the selected object, which can then be stretched and distorted by adding and dragging anchor points. In this way, you can realistically manipulate various objects and even people in the image. By gently changing the position of an arm, a leg or a head turn, you can adjust the subject while maintaining photorealism.
These features and about 30 other new features and improvements make Photoshop CS5 the best and most powerful version yet. For professional or advanced users, an upgrade is justified, but for the majority of users, the program may still be somewhat expensive.
